4 Easiest Ways to Get Incoming Links

Inbound or incoming links is so important in today’s search engine optimization and it is proven that inbound links indeed increase your ranking. It is also used by search engines to determine what keywords will they relate to your website. However, I can easily see that people (including myself) are found to be lazy when it comes to their link-building strategy for one important reason - IT IS A TEDIOUS THING TO DO.

So I thought, what are the easiest ways to get inbound links? Here’s what I have in my checklist.

  1. Submit to internet directories - internet directories are often misjudged as a thing of the past. While they no longer serve as a good tool for searching, internet directories are still good for link building.
  2. Participate in message boards with a link to your website as your signature - participating in message boards discussions can be fun. Try participating in message boards that are related to your website.
  3. Start a blog - if you’re still not blogging, then I suggest that you start blogging now. Blogs are a good way of building links to your ‘main website’ and as an added bonus, you might just get a few more interested people into your blog and your ‘main website’ as well.
  4. Make friends - the internet is not just a tool for making money. It is also a tool for making friends. Chat with people especially those who maintain websites of their own. Then if all goes well, ask them to trade links with you.

Though all of the above are important, I have to add more weight on submitting to internet directories. It can be a tedious job to do but you can always start with a few per day until you have accomplished all of the directories that you can find OR you can use a software that will do the searching and submitting for you.

These are the things that I do right now and I will be doing more as the days go by. Remember, link building is not an overnight thing so persistence is important.

Happy link building!
