I recently closed a contract for P20,000 (about US$400) with the Tungkong Mangga Barangay Water Service System - our local tap water provider.  Actually, they’ve been asking me to develop it for more than a year already but they seem to be quite hesitant about the $400 price tag.  You might be amazed but that’s a huge amount of money to spend for a local water service system.

If you’ve been following my blog lately then you might have noticed that I’ve been planning to setup my ‘real home office’. Special thanks to my friend Boyet for his inputs. As we drew our plans for my home office setup, I thought of the idea of having a relaxing spot in it where I can sit down comfortably and take power naps. The first thing that came to mind was a sofa but it’s too big for the small space that I have. Then I realized, what about recliners. They’re comfy, relaxing and will definitely fit in my room.

It’s always raining here and I’m starting to feel lazy. I can’t go out much. I can’t ride my bike. I can’t work well because I feel sleepy. All I can think of is type and watch TV and that’s boring. Well, I guess I have no choice until the day when the ‘rain remote control’ is invented. :D

School uniforms, do you love them or hate them?  Most parents love school uniforms because it gets rid of the trouble of having to think of what to wear on a daily basis when their children go to school.  It also kinds of attaches a ‘trade mark’ to their children that shouts to the world, “I’m a student!  Take good care of me!”  On the other hand, most students don’t like uniforms.  It takes the fashion out of them.  Most students feel dull wearing a uniform.  I know because I too was a student before.  But hey!  Uniform doesn’t have to be dull at all.  I’m talking about wearing ‘Dickies’ school uniforms here.  Check em out!

Yesterday, my 7-year-old daughter asked me, “Dad, why didn’t you go to college?”  I knew I had to answer carefully so as not to make her think that college is useless.  Better yet, I do not want to upset my wife who, being a college graduate herself, gives high importance to finishing college.  While I was still thinking for an answer, my daughter asked another question, “Don’t you want to be a doctor?”

After discussing with a friend the stuff I need to setup an office, we came to the point where we have to choose the right chair. We searched the net and found this bunch of office chairs from amazon. However we decided to search for more and came at something that is worth looking at.

Making money is just about everybody’s dream.  In our present world, almost every transaction involves money and without money it will be almost impossible to survive unless of course you live in the mountains.  Funny thing is that even people living in the most remote places of the earth already use money and they know and make use of its value.  In other words, we all need money.  I need money and most probably you need money too.

I work mainly at home accepting website development jobs from various clients and also from friends who outsource some of their projects to me. I have a Dell C600 Latitude laptop which I bought second-hand but serves me well. It’s right hinge is already broken but I can live with that until I earn the needed extra money to buy my new laptop. Since I work at home and my laptop allows me to work anywhere I want, I basically where from anywhere in the house that I want. Sometimes even outside the house to as far as my wifi connection can handle (which is not really that far anyway).
