How to Make Money Online in the Philippines

A Hundred Rich Men: Do you have what it takes to be rich?

Lots and lots of Filipinos are looking for ways to work at home and the first thing that comes to mind of the tech-savvy Filipino businessman is to make money online, via the internet, while they sit back in their homes. But how should it be done?

First things first – making money online in the Philippines (or not) should not be confined to the typical ones such as ads and affiliate marketing. You should think of this from the business perspective. You can sell your own products or even put up an online store or a blog for your typically offline business.

Basically, you’ll need a website, website traffic and a means to capture the name and e-mail address of your website visitors.  I won’t delve into the technicalities of these because they’ll require a lot to explain.  Instead, I would advise that you go and hire a professional to help you out.

OR… you can join my team and be part of my 100 Rich Men project.  I’ll teach you how to make money online (and offline) in the Philippines using techniques that I use.

I’m Transforming this Blog (Again)

Hello dear reader! I am once more transforming this blog. Actually, it’s not really changing. I’d prefer saying that it’s morphing into something better. This blog of mine have seen many changes as it tries to catch up with my most current flow of thoughts.

But I’ve finally made my mind!

This blog of mine is going to be my hub to shell out advises, offers and recommendations for both budding and experienced Filipino businessmen/entrepreneurs. Yes, I will no longer attempt to blog for everybody but instead focus my energy only to Filipinos here and abroad who are seeking to have a better life by starting their own business.

In other words, this blog is going to be a business blog for Filipinos both local and abroad.

More power to us all and may we fully attain time and financial freedom!

How to Improve your Text Link Ads Income

Ever wondered how some people make $300, $500 or even $1000 a month with Text Link Ads?  Well tell you what, it’s not easy as in 24-hours only easy but it can be done with a little consistency and hard work.

Truth is that the amount you earn from Text Link Ads is based on the quality of your blog content, page rank value and a bunch of other things.  Theoretically, it’s easy to do but it’s really a bit hard in real life.  So what do you need to do? Here are three things that you’ll want to do.

  1. Keep your content fresh – I say spend at least 1 to 2 hours per day updating your blog.  Post something new or talk about another person’s post.  Add some photos to your posts because people like that.  If people like what you posted, they’re most likely going to link to your blog.
  2. Keep your topics consistent – Typical newbie bloggers would post anything that comes to their mind and when a professional (i.e. those who advertise with TLA) look at their blog, they’re not really sure about what topic is being talked about.  Furthermore, inconsistency with your topics will drive readers away.
  3. Interact with other blogs – Interacting SHOULD be done in two ways.  First and the more common one is to post useful comments on other people’s blogs.  Make it useful enough that those reading through the comments will be interested in who you are and so click the link to your blog.  Second is to write about other people’s blogs.  This will build good blog-to-blog relationships and thereby increase your readership.

Bonus Tip: Do not focus on Page rank.  Focus on quality content and search engine rankings and PR will follow naturally.  Text Link Ads advertisers don’t just look at page rank, they also look at the quality and readability of your content.

How to build credibility online

How to build your credibility online

Credibility is important for any entity – be it an individual or corporation. It’s not easy to build it but it’s way too easy to tarnish or even destroy it, especially online. So how does one build credibility and keep it good online? Here are a few tips that may just help.

  1. Build a website – you can never build online credibility without it.  A blog is more than sufficient for this purpose and you can build your blog for free at www.blogspot.com
  2. Be kind – be as kind as you can to everybody.  You can do this by writing comments on their blogs, praising their articles, or simply writing on their facebook wall.
  3. Be honest – never exaggerate on things and never lie.
  4. Be sociable – respond to people’s comments on your blog and social networks
  5. Never spam – spamming can destroy your online credibility in seconds
  6. Be yourself – don’t act as if you’re somebody else.  Just be yourself and you’ll have more friends online
  7. Offer help – if you’re an expert in some field, offer your help for free to other people in forums, blogs and social networking websites
  8. Post photos – upload wholesome photos of yourself and your family on your social networking websites.  You can also upload them on your blogs
  9. Be consistent – be as consistent as you can in updating your online profiles, blogs, etc. This let’s people know that you’re alive and kicking
  10. Be friendly – nothing can be better in building online credibility than being genuinely friendly to others

This list is not in any particular order.  I just wrote them as they popped into my head.  If you have more suggestions in building your online credibility, please feel free to post them as comments below.

Thanks!

Are you spreading yourself too thin?

Over StretchedOne thing I learned in “online living” is to avoid spreading myself too thin. I used to maintain many websites and I mean many. Each time a new idea comes to my mind, I would immediately register a domain for it, set it up on my server and create a blog for it only to find myself not capable of pushing through with this new idea anymore. This results to stress, unmaintained websites and definitely no income.

Furthermore, this kind of strategy spreads my SEO efforts into multiple sites. Instead of building links for just one site, I end up building links for tons of sites – something that I honestly just can’t do. Updating is a nightmare (which blog will I update today) and promotion is scarce.

After learning these lessons, I decided to just maintain three sites – this one and two others which you’ll eventually see as we go along. What about the other sites that I already own? I’ll keep them as is for now until I either find someone who would be interested in maintaining them.

If you think that you’re spreading yourself too thin then I strongly urge you to do as I did. Make a list of things that you’re currently doing and just cross out anything that aren’t really that important. If you end up thinking that everything in your list are important, then just prioritize them. You need to focus your energy on to a few things only in order to get results – that’s the whole point.

Next, re-organize yourself. Make use of calendars and task lists as they are proven tools in self-organizing and time management. Then don’t be a workaholic. In other words, don’t work the entire day and always have a day off or two for your family and friends. You need it in order to recharge.

There you go, I hope this article has been of help to you.

New Life, New Theme

New theme for a resurrected blog. It’s a free theme called Fusion by digitalsignature. Since it’s free, you might see other blogs out there that look exactly the same. Don’t worry, I’ll customize this theme and add the “Mike Lopez” touch to it – but not yet. I’ll have to squeeze it into my already hectic schedule.

The theme looks fine to me though and I love its Text size and Page width buttons on the upper right corner of the page. Kudos to digitalsignature for that.

Finally, Some Movement

Ok, I know I’m guilty for not updating my blog.  I’m sorry.  Just been very very very busy with lots and lots and lots of stuff in this world lately.  One just cannot anticipate when headaches will come.  Life would be better if we had some sort of a red flashing warning light telling us of impending problems but that ain’t the case.

So, finally some movement.  I’ve decided to “Rethink my life” which caused a few friends here and there to ask me about it.  Well, truth be told, if I want to live my life to its fullest, I really need to reorganize myself and rethink my plans.  Otherwise, all that I’m doing – no matter how elegant, awesome or noble – will just be thrown in to the crap bin.

Now what?  I made a list of things that I am currently doing and crossed out anything that can or must be crossed out.  These basically are the stuff that I’m doing that’s “not worth it” if you know what I mean.  The list (sorry, I won’t be showing it here) is so full of crap that I’m amazed how I managed to survive until now.  I ended up with a rather manageable set of things that I really need to do on a daily basis after I cleaned up the list.

Next, I allotted time to each of the items left in my list.  One hour for this, 30 minutes for that, 8 hours for this, 4 hours for that, etc, etc, etc.  I know I won’t be able to follow it to the letter but that’s not what it’s meant to be.  It’s not going to be a lawbook that I need to follow “or else”.  Rather, it’s a guide that will help me prioritize what needs to be done.

Lastly, I began using Google Calendar once more.  It’s been too long since I last used it that I didn’t know it already has a tasks list feature – a very welcome feature indeed.  Now I can organize my schedules and keep tabs of my tasks.  Even better, I can sync it with my iTouch – another very very welcome feature.

I hope all these rethinking and reorganizing will help me become more productive in the days to come.  I have big huge dreams for my family and I just need to be as productive as I can be without having to sacrifice quality time with my wife, kids, mom and brothers.

There, I don’t know how to end this post so I think I just to stop typing.
